A political resume or political biodata lists your personal details, party and current position, constituency, posts held in the party and in elected bodies with dates, social and community work, education, and achievements, usually with a formal photo. Keep it to one or two pages, write facts with dates and numbers, and never list a post or election result you did not hold or win.
Political biodata is used when a party considers you for a post or a ticket, for public profiles, press kits and event introductions. It is not the same as the legal nomination papers. In India, for example, candidates file an affidavit (Form 26) with the Returning Officer, which follows the Election Commission's rules, not a biodata format.

Mistakes that damage a political biodata
- Inflating titles or claiming an office you did not hold.
- Listing projects without dates or without saying what your role was.
- Including caste, religion or family details that the context does not require.
- Long lists of photos with VIPs instead of concrete work.
- What is political biodata?
- A one- or two-page profile of a politician or party worker: personal details, party posts, public offices, social work and education.
- Is a political biodata the same as a nomination affidavit?

- Usually yes, a recent formal photo, because it is used for public profiles.
- How long should a political resume be?
- One to two pages.
