Many local employers in Myanmar still use a CV form: a one-page table with name, father's name, date of birth, NRC number, nationality, religion, address, education and work history, usually with a photo. International companies, NGOs and employers abroad expect an international-style CV in English instead, which leaves out family and identity details and focuses on experience and results.
These are common practices, not legal rules, and employers differ. Every example is fictional; replace each [bracketed] detail with your own, and follow the job posting when it asks for something specific.
What a Myanmar CV usually includes
| Section | What to write |
|---|---|
| Photo and name | Passport-style photo; name in Myanmar and English if needed |
| Family and identity | Father's name, NRC number, date of birth, nationality, religion (local form only) |
| Address and contact | Current address and phone |
| Education | Degree, university and year; matriculation if requested |
| Work experience | Employer, position and dates |
| Skills and languages | Computer skills, Myanmar and English levels |
Local CV form or international CV?
| Applying to | Use |
|---|---|
| Local private company that provides a form | The CV form, filled in carefully |
| International company, NGO, UN agency | International CV in English |
| Jobs abroad | The destination country's format |
If you use the local form, add your experience details on a second page; the form itself leaves little room for achievements.
