Taiwan Resume Format: How to Write a Resume for Jobs and Applications in Taiwan

A resume for Taiwan is usually one or two pages with a photo, contact details, education, work experience, skills and language levels. Local employers often also ask for a short autobiography or self-introduction (自傳) describing your background and motivation. For international companies and university or scholarship applications, an English resume in the same structure is standard.

These are common practices, not legal rules, and employers differ. Every example is fictional; replace each [bracketed] detail with your own, and follow the job posting when it asks for something specific.

What a Taiwanese CV usually includes

The autobiography (自傳) and resume for applications

Many Taiwanese employers and job platforms ask for a 自傳 alongside the resume: a short narrative of your education, experience and motivation. Keep it factual and specific to the role. For a university or scholarship application in Taiwan, the resume is often paired with a study plan; follow the programme's list exactly.

  • Mention Mandarin level with a test result if you have one.
  • Put your nationality and visa status on the resume if you are a foreign applicant.
  • Keep the photo recent and professional.
