Teacher Portfolio in Saudi Arabia (Achievement File): The 11 Evaluation Elements and Evidence Examples

A teacher achievement file (ملف إنجاز) is an organised set of evidence of your work: lesson plans, photos of strategies in use, analysis of student results, professional development certificates and contact with parents. Organise it by the performance-evaluation elements your education office uses, and keep it as an online page with one link, plus a short PDF when your school asks for one.

The file matters more under the performance-evaluation system for teaching staff in Saudi Arabia. According to an education expert quoted by Okaz in September 2025, the system applies from the 1447–1448 AH school year, asks for tangible evidence of tasks and actual work, and rates performance on five levels: excellent, very good, good, satisfactory and unsatisfactory. The achievement file is where that evidence lives.

The 11 evaluation elements and evidence for each

These are the 11 elements as listed in the Okaz report, translated from Arabic. Check the evaluation form your school or education office actually uses, because it decides the final wording and weighting.

ElementEvidence examplesHow to show it in the file

Varying teaching strategiesCooperative learning, problem-solving, play-based lessonsA lesson plan, a photo of it in use and what you noticed afterwards
Improving learners' resultsRemedial and enrichment plans, follow-up of struggling studentsA before-and-after table for the group, without names
Preparing and delivering the learning planCurriculum distribution, lesson preparation, weekly planThe distribution file and one prepared lesson
Using suitable educational technology and resourcesInteractive presentations, digital tools, your school's learning platformA link or screenshot of a digital activity with its purpose
Preparing the learning environmentClassroom layout, learning displays, reading cornerClassroom photos without students
Classroom managementClass rules, reward system, behaviour follow-upThe posted rules and a sample of the reward system
Analysing learners' resultsTest analysis and diagnosing levelsA chart or table without names, and the decision you took from it
Varying assessment methodsQuizzes, student portfolios, self and peer assessment, projectsSamples of different assessment tools with their rubrics

Collect less, explain more. One or two strong pieces of evidence per element, each with a line on what you did and what changed, are easier to assess than twenty uncaptioned photos.

What goes in a teacher achievement file

  • Cover: name, subject, school and school year. Leave out your national ID and personal mobile number in any version shared by link.
  • A short profile or one-page CV: qualification, years of experience, subjects and grades taught.
  • A paragraph on your teaching approach, for example how you handle mixed ability.
  • One section per evaluation element, with its evidence and a short caption.
  • Professional development: courses, workshops and certificates, newest first.
  • Certificates of appreciation.
  • A closing reflection on what you will change next year based on the results.

Aanaab's teacher portfolio guide suggests similar sections: teaching philosophy, career path, teaching samples, student work and evaluations. Linking each section to an evaluation element means the reviewer finds the evidence where they expect it.

Electronic or paper achievement file?

PrivacyYou choose what to publish, but a link can be forwardedHarder to spread, easier to lose
Best forOngoing evidence shared with the principal and supervisorWhen the school asks for a printed copy or a specific attachment

For most teachers the practical answer is both: an online file kept up to date through the year, and a short PDF when the school asks. The portfolio website vs PDF guide covers the trade-off in more detail.

Protecting students' privacy

  • Do not publish students' faces or names in a file anyone with the link can open. Photograph the work and the activity, not the children.
  • Remove names from grade sheets and result analyses; show group figures or a chart instead.
  • If a photo with students is necessary, follow the school's policy and get the required permission first.
  • Show parent messages only after removing anything that identifies the family.

Making an electronic achievement file in ArcPixel

ArcPixel's portfolio builder publishes a page in Arabic, right to left, under one link that you can turn into a QR code with any QR generator for the printed copy. Add each evaluation element as a section or project with photos and a description, starting from the portfolio templates. Creating and previewing are free; publishing needs a paid plan, as shown on the pricing page. If you are applying for a new teaching job, the teacher resume examples and the resume-to-portfolio guide help with the application itself.

What is a teacher achievement file?
An organised set of evidence of a teacher's work through the year, covering planning, teaching, assessment, communication and professional development, used for evaluation and growth.
What does an achievement file contain?
A cover and profile, one section per evaluation element with its evidence, professional development, certificates and a closing reflection.
Is the achievement file compulsory?
The evaluation system relies on evidence; the file format itself is set by your school or education office. Ask which template they use.
Should I include photos of students?
Avoid students' faces and names in any version shared by link. Photograph work and activities, and follow school policy when a photo with students is needed.
How many pieces of evidence per element?
Public sources do not set a number. One or two clear, captioned pieces per element are better than many without explanation.

Let the projects speak. Choose a design, add your work, and publish a link that feels like you.
